What does it mean to walk in might? In the New Testament, the word “might” refers to the Greek word dunamis, which implies the miracle-working ability of God within believers. It also denotes the inherent power that believers possess—a power that is, in itself, miraculous. To walk in might, therefore, is to walk in the manifestation of God’s miraculous ability within you, to live supernaturally.
This walk in might is made possible by the indwelling power of the Spirit in the believer, who is born of the Spirit and thus should function supernaturally, just as the Spirit does.
Consider Ecclesiastes 11:5:
“As you do not know what is the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of God who makes everything” (NKJV).
And John 3:8:
“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
You’re like the wind—people may hear you, but they don’t know where you come from or where you’re going. This analogy refers to speaking in tongues.
As 1 Corinthians 14:2 says,
“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”
Your salvation is a calling to serve in the ministry of reconciliation. As such, you are empowered with God’s miracle-working ability to live supernaturally, with signs and wonders following your ministry. This becomes your living reality when you understand how to tap into the power at work within you for your own strengthening.
Ephesians 3:14-21 reveals the depth of this empowerment:
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
To walk in might, you must be strengthened with might in your inner man. Weakness in the inner man results in fear, trepidation, and a tendency to neglect or abandon ministry in the face of challenges. Therefore, you must consciously activate the exceeding greatness of God’s power within you by praying in the Spirit and engaging in the things of the Spirit.
The turning on of the inward supernatural ability is done consciously, through praying, praying again, and always, until the power in you is regulated to your own benefit.
As James 5:16-17 says:
“Confess to one another your faults, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.” (AMP).
I call you blessed.
