Knowing that you are a son of God and a servant of his mysteries

The acceptance of Christ makes a person a son of God. As sons of God, we stand before God just as Jesus does.

1 John 3:1-2

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.(KJV)

1 John 5:9-12

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.(KJV)

We are now the sons of God. The life of God within us is our eternal inheritance, making us heirs of God and co-heirs with Jesus. The Holy Spirit, as the guarantee of this inheritance, ensures that we walk in the newness of life, just as the glory of God raised Jesus from the dead.

Romans 6:3-4:

“Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Walking in the newness of life means exercising and enjoying the rights of sonship in our bodies while on earth.

This knowledge compels us to serve the will and purpose of God with our bodies, joyfully and regardless of our circumstances. We understand the importance of remaining faithful to this calling, knowing that through our service, more people are becoming sons of God.

1 Corinthians 4:1-2:

“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”

We are stewards of the mysteries of God, dispensers of the revelation knowledge of Christ. We are called to spread the fragrance of this knowledge.

Ephesians 3:2-5:

“If indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets.”

Colossians 1:25-29:

“of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”(NKJV)

Every son of God is a servant of God, called to serve the revelation of the knowledge of Christ to the world and the church.

It requires humble obedience to serve without feeling humiliated. One might ask, “Do sons serve?” Yes, sons serve, not the Father directly but His will and purpose.

Paul said,

“We preach Christ, not ourselves, but ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Corinthians 4:5).

The house of God is where we serve. We serve our brethren, and with them, we serve the will and purpose of God together. In serving the brethren, we are serving God, as we become God’s immediate ministry to all the saints.

Hebrews 6:10-11:

“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end.”

1 Peter 4:10-11:

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

In what way are you serving the brethren or working with them to fulfill the mission of spreading the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ where you are now?

We are sons of God, just as Jesus is, but we are admonished to walk in the wisdom He displayed on earth. Though He knew He was God, He humbled Himself to serve man, ultimately leading to His death. However, God raised Him from the dead, and we are to follow His example. We must set aside our rights as sons to serve men and our brethren humbly and obediently, fulfilling the will and purpose of God.

Philippians 2:5-13:

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

It will be a great delight to stand with the sons of God on earth, fulfilling His will and purpose.

It’s a new day—the day of salvation. Join the servants of the will and purpose of God.

I call you blessed.
